Audio Helper

Your computer's audio, playing on your Bluetooth speaker.

A pro audio interface takes over playback the moment you plug it in, and a DAW driving that interface over ASIO bypasses Windows Audio entirely. The Bluetooth speaker you paired an hour ago hears none of it. The usual answers are unplugging the interface or standing up a mixing-router application you have to learn.

Audio Helper is a small Windows utility that takes the short path. Pick what to capture, pick the Bluetooth device to send it to, press start. The audio your interface is already playing goes out to the speaker as well, and nothing about your setup changes — the interface stays plugged in, the DAW keeps its ASIO device, playback never stops.

The capture side is the loopback recording channel your interface already exposes — the same channel its own control panel offers for streaming. That is what makes ASIO audio reachable at all. Most interfaces from the last several years have one. If yours does not, Audio Helper says so in plain English and tells you where to look, rather than starting and playing silence.

Bluetooth is slow, and this page is not going to pretend otherwise. Expect somewhere around 200 ms between the interface and the speaker. That is the Bluetooth stack, not the utility — every Bluetooth audio path on every operating system carries it. Audio Helper is built for listening back, filling a room, and working somewhere that isn't your studio. It is not a monitoring path, and you should not track through it.

Capabilities

    Choose the source, choose the Bluetooth device, press start. There is no routing matrix to learn and no virtual cable to install first.

  • Reaches audio that ASIO owns

    Capturing the interface's loopback channel means a DAW running over ASIO is audible on the Bluetooth speaker — the case that ordinary Windows loopback cannot see.

  • A jitter buffer sized for Bluetooth

    A quarter-second of buffer sits between capture and playback so the wireless link can stall and recover without dropouts reaching the speaker.

  • Level meters on both sides

    Peak levels for what is being captured and what is being sent, so silence is diagnosable in a glance instead of a guess.

  • Straight passthrough

    No compression, no EQ, no loudness correction on the way out. What your interface plays is what the speaker gets, at the codec's mercy and nothing else's.

  • An honest dialog instead of silence

    If your interface exposes no loopback channel, Audio Helper explains what is missing, why it matters, and where the setting usually lives — before you start, not after.

  • Tray-resident and quiet

    Lives in the system tray while it runs. No nag screens, no account prompt, no telemetry, no background updater.

  • Free, with no DRM

    No serial, no activation server, no dongle. Downloading requires a 730 account; running the application requires nothing at all.

Everything your computer plays — the DAW over ASIO, a browser, a media player, system sounds — converges at your interface's physical outputs. Interfaces expose that mix back to the computer as a recording device, usually labelled loopback. Audio Helper opens that recording device through WASAPI, holds the incoming samples in a 250 ms buffer, and renders them to the Windows Audio endpoint your Bluetooth device is paired to.

That buffer is the reason playback survives a wireless link that briefly stumbles, and it is also part of why the speaker lags the interface. The rest is the Bluetooth stack itself: encode, transmit, decode, and the receiving device's own buffer. Around 200 ms is normal, and no software on the sending side removes it.

Audio Helper writes no driver of its own and installs nothing into the kernel. It uses the loopback channel your interface already has and the Bluetooth stack Windows already ships. Where an interface has no loopback channel, the answer for this beta is the dialog explaining that — not a bundled virtual device.

Decisions

  • The beta does one thing.

    Audio Helper grows into a larger piece of software — hosting VST3 effects, carrying Gear Helper, taking load off your DAW. None of that is in this build, and this page will not describe it as though it were. Bluetooth routing is what shipped. The later stages arrive as free updates to the same application.

  • No virtual audio device in the beta.

    Bundling a virtual cable would capture more sources, and it would also put a driver install between you and the first time you hear anything. The loopback channel your interface already has is the shorter path for most people, and an honest dialog is the better answer for the rest.

  • The stream is not processed.

    No correction, no enhancement, no loudness matching on the way to the speaker. Audio Helper moves audio; it does not have opinions about it.

  • Downloading takes an account. Running it does not.

    A 730 account gates the download so we know who is on the beta and can reach you when something changes. The application itself has no license check, no serial, and no phone-home. Once it is on your machine it is yours.

Install

System requirements

  • Windows 10 or 11
  • An audio interface with a loopback recording channel, for capturing ASIO sources
  • A Bluetooth speaker or headphones already paired in Windows
  • A 730 account, for the download

Steps

  1. Pair your Bluetooth device in Windows first, and confirm Windows can play a sound through it.
  2. Sign in and download AudioHelper-0.1.0.zip.
  3. Unzip to any location and run AudioHelper.exe.
  4. Pick the loopback source, pick the Bluetooth device, press start.
